Rainforest Alliance Espresso 1865
Our new “Espresso 1865” is blended and roasted with coffee beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms but the recipe remains a well-kept secret unique to John Watt & Son but produces a strong smooth coffee.
When roasting this coffee, we listen for the crackle of the beans and when they fall silent we eagerly watch for the smoke to change from white to dark smoke. The silence of the beans and smoke means we need to remove the heat and cool the beans to make our rich smooth espresso perfect for enjoying at any time of day.
The Rainforest Alliance Certified seal helps to assure consumers that the product they are purchasing has been grown and harvested using environmentally and socially responsible practices. Farms and forestlands that meet the rigorous, third-party standards of the Sustainable Agriculture Network or the Forest Stewardship Council are awarded the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal.
Our very own High Mountain blend, created by the original owner’s love of the Lake District Fells. A blend of Fairtrade Colombian and Fairtrade Costa Rica which are roasted to the first crackle. The High Mountain blend has fruity, chocolate notes, with a well-rounded, medium body and lively citrus acidity.
